Shannon & Trout

18 08 2014

Of all the different types of photography I do, I enjoy engagements and weddings the most. Everyone is happy and the expectation for the future great.  It is fun to be invited into this positive energy and captured these shared moments.  Recently, I met up with Shannon and Trout to photograph their engagement announcement.

Forth (Rail) Bridge

15 08 2014

Have you ever had a scene or image that you cannot shake?  Seven years ago I traveled to Scotland to photograph Carrie and Tony’s wedding.  One evening, we went to the small village of South Queensferry to have dinner.  This bridge was right outside and loomed so large.  I took the photo.

Forth Rail Bridge

It is called the “Forth Bridge” or the “Forth Rail Bridge” as this one only carries trains.  It took seven years to complete and was opened in 1890. You can find out more information by clicking HERE.

I think of this bridge often – though I am not sure why.  It just seems so surreal and dream-like as if it’s reaching out of another time.. bridging centuries.

Another Wedding

Crossing The Threshold

It may have been another wedding, but it wasn’t just another day!

You may recognize these two from any earlier entry.  Their wedding finally rolled around last June.  It was a very humid Ohio summer day and it started early!  The bride and groom hung in there and even by the end of the long day of ceremony and photos in and around Cleveland, they were still smiling and enjoying their day.

Joseph & Amanda

I am not so sure I can say the same for the bride’s father.  He came in from out of town and definitely was dealing with the jet-lag as well as the emotions of his daughter’s wedding.  All in all though, he did well… all things considered.  You see, the photographer was me and I couldn’t have been happier!

Lauren & Anthony

13 09 2012

I had the pleasure and honor to photograph Lauren and Anthony’s wedding this past weekend (You met them a couple of posts ago!)  I am still processing the photos, but I wanted to take this opportunity to post this one photo (trust me – there are more to come – stay tuned).  Some photographers become intrigued with the different aspects of the wedding. Me?  I find the back of the wedding dress a worthy subject of a photo. So much can be told by the dress, how it is worn and how it is held.

This was the back of Lauren’s dress during the first dance.

Summer Love – or Not….

18 07 2012

I recently traveled to Ohio for a special engagement photo session.  You never know how these are going to go…

This weekend was especially hot and we had to hike a bit to the waterfall that held special meaning for the couple.  The cicada were singing, deer fly were biting, the rocks slippery and the sweat was running. It was fun!

Or not…

You’ve gotta love love.

More on this very special engagement session shortly!  🙂
